Green Mountain Ranch: Hafele Brings Functionality to Idea House

Green Mountain Ranch in Livermore, Colorado features over 180 ideas installed to demonstrate the complementary aspects of green and universal design. The project is proactive, using design elements to prevent injuries and to encourage a lifestlye that leads to health and longevity.  The house is visitable by wheelchairs users and adaptable to tall and short users, to people with low vision and low hearing, to those who want to do rehab at home, and to those requiring a caregiver. All features are visually integrated, not advertising age or disability.

From the kitchen to the bathroom Hafele is a part of this living idea house. Review the pictures below for a sense of what Hafele Functionality can add to any home regardless of life stage or ability.

Functionality in the Kitchen/Pantry

Bringing heavier kitchen appliances to countertop height can be simplified by Hafele's Foldaway System. With a two-way locking latch and load bearing capacity of up to 26 lbs cooking becomes easier for every homeowner. Item numbers: 504.24.710 and 504.24.701.

Functionality in the Bathroom

In the bathroom, support is there only when you need it with the LifeSystem grab bar from HEWI. A single arm rail with a non-slip ergonomic-shaped grip for assistance in supporting, steadying, or pulling up.
