Methods for securing a cup hinge

There are four methods for securing the hinge cup to the door.

Logica

The Logica hinge “clips” onto the pre-drilled holes in the door without the need for a screwdriver.A Logica hinge allows you to pre-drill your door and wait to install the hinge onto the door when the cabinet is installed.  This way the finished doors can be flat packed and wrapped, assuring that they arrive undamaged.  

Advantages: 

• Hinge attaches to door without tools.
• Flat packing of doors prevents damage to doors.

How does it work?
The hinge is inserted into the holes, and then the raised flap on the hinge is clipped into the closed position.  The dowels spread and dig in creating a strong connection to the door.

Rapido

The Rapido style of mounting was developed to allow you to pre-drill your door and install the hinge onto the door after the cabinet is installed.  This way finished doors can be flat packed and wrapped, assuring that the doors remain in pristine condition until installed.

Advantages:

• Hinge attaches to door with a ½ turn of the Rapido fastener.
• Flat packing of doors prevents damage to doors.  

How does it work?
A ½ turn rotates a half-screw into the door, pulling the hinge to the door and creating a strong connection.

Press fit

The press fit mounting is designed to make quick work on the production line, manufacturing cell or small to medium size cabinet shop. The production advantages will quickly show up in your bottom line - more work completed faster with fewer manual tool steps.

Advantages:

• Production advantage – quick installation increases throughput of the shop by decreasing the time to install the hinge cup.
• Hinge attaches to door through the use of a dedicated machine.
• No fatigue from turning screws.

Screw mount

The screw mount style of mounting is attractive if you are uncertain about the door material, thickness, etc.  You have the flexibility to pre-drill their screw holes if the material requires it, and make a decision about screw length when the door is in hand.  

Advantages:

• Hinge attaches to door with whatever is the appropriate screw for the task.
• Lower purchase price
