Industrial Account Sales Representative – OEM Office Industry

Michigan
 

SUMMARY

The ideal Industrial Account Sales Representative will reside in the Western Michigan region for ease of access to the countries major manufacturers of office furniture and related products, including but not limited to casework, panel processing and sub-assembly. This position will focus on sales and support efforts toward a group of selected customers for the purpose of developing said accounts to their full sales and relationship potential.  Industrial Accounts as identified by Häfele America Co. management are typically large and complex in nature, large in revenue, and may be managed by larger holding companies requiring a singular point of supplier contact at the central office. Thus, the number of Industrial Accounts within a given geographic region will be limited in order to gain the best possible balance of opportunity and support. The defined sales area of an Industrial Account Sales Representative will remain at the discretion of the Industrial Account Manager and Business Group Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive “profile” of each account. This database should include all major principles, department managers, various influencers and decision makers in the product placement and sales process. This overview should take on a template form and include as much relevant data as necessary to capture views of the customers market/channel segment, market approach, financial position and relevant logistics necessary to support the account.

• Sales goals for each account including sales revenue and gross profit expectations.

• Continual assessment of current product sales with focus on item forecasting, sales revenue, and gross profit expectations.

• Provides detailed plans for target products to be introduced.

• Manage an updated list and detailed plan for key products in need of development and investments required to obtain a satisfactory ROI.

• Provides effective leadership at the account level with regard to company image, internal policies and ethical business practices. Conducts his/her self with the highest level of integrity and personal ethics and is accountable for their behavior as it is perceived by the client and the marketplace.

• Maintains schedule of frequent customer visits which include opportunities for new product introduction, updating of customer forecasts, review of current and future product purchases and gathering of significant market information and trends. Promotes “partnering” relationship to meet both Häfele America and customer expectations with regard to product positioning and market penetration.

• Manages relationships with key principles and decision-makers of specified accounts. Provides support and service of account with assistance from Häfele America’s Customer Service Dept.

• Leverages customer relationships to include additionalHäfele personnel at key positions. Provides opportunities for Häfele management to participate in customer meetings, product development teams, and strategic marketing teams; constantly broadening the relationship “circle” with a focus toward increasing our internal knowledge base and experience within each account.

• Works closely with Industrial Account Manager and Product Management to identify new product opportunities, new market requirements and provides relevant market information to support modifications to existing products.

• Works closely with Planning/Purchasing Departments in conjunction with the Product Sourcing Manager to insure that items needed for strategic accounts are stocked at appropriate levels and any supply chain issues are identified and communicated internally and externally with the account.

• Must achieve a high level of coordination and communication with the Häfele America organization. The Industrial Account Sales Representative must have superior verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively report on account and market activities and engage internal resources and personnel as supported by Häfele management.

• Provides a written report on a monthly basis which is shared with Industrial Account Manager, Häfele management and internal departments.

• Maintains and enhance Häfele America corporate image and reputation, protect and develop the company’s brand via Sales/Marketing activities and intellectual property management.

• Participates in various aspects of internal product strategy including product application, market pricing, and collection of relevant market data to assist in future product strategies.

• Attends regional and national industry trade shows and national association meetings to gather market information and reports findings to Häfele America management.

• Manages and reports on a travel and expense budget on a monthly basis.

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Territory Sales Representative - Michigan
 

SUMMARY
The purpose of the TSR is to travel within the defined territory promoting Hafele hardware (cabinet and architectural) to manufacturers, designers, engineers and architects. The focus is on sales and support to existing customers and specifiers ,and development of customers and specifiers determined to have good potential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and maintain a detailed sales and support plan for the territory.
• Travel daily within the territory to visit customers, potential customers and specifiers.
• Maintain consistent contact with customers to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Develop a daily agenda of customer visits to demonstrate current and speculative products and assist in customer hardware decisions including new product development. Determine the customer’s needs.
• Provide accurate reports on daily activities to Sales Management at regular intervals.
• Prepare price quotations and write orders subject to approval by Hafele Management.
• Maintain detailed files on previous, current and future customer product presentations and associated meetings
• Travel to trade shows within and outside of the territory. This may include nights and weekends.
• Participate in required training (product, computer, sales etc) within and outside of the territory.
• Keep company informed on competitive products, promotional matter, sales techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing policies.
• Complete product and market research reports as directed by sales and Marketing Management.
• Communicate as needed with Customer Service, Sales Management, Marketing Management and other internal personnel via phone, fax and e-mail regarding customer activities on a regular basis.
• Maintain a home office to conduct business exclusively for Hafele America Company.

Project Service Specialist

 

SUMMARY
The Project Service Group provides support and project management for all of Hafele project business needs including all hardware products, custom sliding hardware applications and all other custom (Made-To-Order) items. This support includes processing sales leads and inquiries, generating quotes and orders as well as follow-up through project closure.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support
Manage all project requirements, including:
CAD Detailing, receiving, researching, answering and following up on internal and external customer & sales representatives inquiries regarding projects, products, prices, shipment tracing and documentation, including submittals, specifications and catalogs.

Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.

Technical Knowledge
Auto CAD operation and detailing.
Consulting for products and application and troubleshooting applications / installations.
Ability to read, interpret and review architectural construction documents (drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and product data)
Provide technical support for specification inquiries.  Manage those throughout the project as needed.

Process / Project Management
Strong ability to review current customer/project needs and provide product solutions.
Understanding and knowledge of construction process, construction document process and technical aptitude.
