What Will Be Expected of You

  • Assist with development and execution of new product launches.
  • Collaborates with suppliers, purchasing, and sales departments to maintain product programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales department and customers.
  • Helps to manage and source items in regards to special customer requests
  • Resolves quality issues with suppliers and customers in cooperation with quality department.

  • Develops artwork for product lines in cooperation with Marketing Department.

What Will Be Expected of You

  • Works with suppliers, purchasing, marketing, and sales departments
  • Works with Suppliers, Purchasing, and Sales Departments to develop and maintain product programs.
  • Assesses total value delivered to HAC through supplier/product relationships.
  • Develops and implements sales strategy and price structure in cooperation with Sales Department.

Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for negotiating and maintaining relationships with suppliers, purchasing inventory, managing inventory stock levels, along with accurately maintaining the item parameters related to purchasing within ERP to give the customer a clear expected delivery of product.

What Will Be Expected of You

  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding price, lead time, ordering quantities, shipping terms, and delivery expectations to achieve ongoing cost containment and improvement.
  • Review and generate purchase orders, based upon replenishment parameters derived from DRP, min-max parameters and manual purchase order creation to meet expectations of stock availability and orders shipped on time.
  • Maintain accuracy of purchase orders within ERP to clearly communicate availability dates to customers.
  • Resolve compliance discrepancies.
  • Resolve delivery discrepancies and maintain clear, timely communication to Procurement customers the progress of product deliveries.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain accuracy of item parameters in ERP.
  • Evaluate and work close with Planning, Product Management, and Sales to maintain planning parameters to meet inventory expectations.
  • Find sources and negotiate pricing for new products and resource existing products when needed.
  • Reviews with suppliers annual performance metrics and develops plan for improvement if necessary.


Qualifications 

  • Analytical Skills: You will be working with multiple vendors to determine and evaluate the many pros and cons of each, based on financial analysis, quality, speed of delivery and other factors.
  • Decision-Making Skills: You will need to use the information you have gathered to make decisions on representing Hafele.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills will be needed to analyze prices and get the best deals possible.
  • Negotiating Skills: You will be working with suppliers to create the best deals.
  • Service:  Must have an intense focus on service and be adaptable to a constantly changing work environment.
  • Work Environment:  Ability to handle multiple tasks, work either independently or in a team environment and be detail-oriented.
  • Computer Skills:  Microsoft Excel skills are required, with advanced Excel skills a plus.  Experience within Oracle ERP is desired.
  • Communication:  Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with people of varying responsibilities.
  • Travel:  Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.


Education and/or Experience 

  • Minimum of Associates degree in buying, logistics, procurement, or other relevant business course study with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a purchasing/inventory management/supply chain environment.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a global organization with multiple distribution channels.
  • Supply Chain certification is desired.

About the Job

The Territory Sales Representative (TSR) travels within the defined territory promoting Häfele hardware (cabinet and architectural) to manufacturers, designers, engineers and architects. The focus is on sales and support to existing customers and specifiers as well as the development of prospective customers and specifiers.
 

What will be Expected of You

Develop and maintain a detailed sales and support plan for the territory.

Maintain consistent contact with customers to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Develop a daily agenda of in-person customer visits to demonstrate current and speculative products and assist in customer hardware decisions including new product development. Determine the customer’s needs.

Prepare price quotations and write orders subject to approval by Häfele Management.

Maintain detailed database on previous, current and future customer product presentations and associated meetings. Provide daily activity reports to Sales Management at regular intervals.

Travel to trade shows within and outside of the territory. This may include nights and weekends.

Participate in required training (product, computer, sales, etc.) within and outside of the territory.

Keep company informed on competitive products, promotional materials, sales techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing activities occurring within your territory. Complete product and market research reports as directed by Sales and Marketing Management.

Communicate regularly with Customer Service, Sales Management, Marketing Management and other internal personnel via phone, fax and email regarding customer activities.

Maintain a home office to conduct business exclusively for Häfele America Co.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university and 1 to 2 years of related sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands
