When asked about their ideal kitchen people often begin with what you can see and touch – the granite countertops, the stainless steel appliances and so on. When Häfele America Co., one of America’s leading suppliers of kitchen organization and decorative hardware components, asks this question they seek something more. Can the contents of my cabinets come to me instead of having to hunt around on my hands and knees with a flashlight? Can all areas of the kitchen – including food preparation areas, the insides of cabinets and drawers and pantry spaces – be brightly and completely illuminated? Does the kitchen function well? The kitchen vignette being shown at KBIS 2016 by Häfele features an inspired and boldly evolutionary design with a primary focus on everyday usability and smart storage solutions in limited space areas.
“This kitchen is all about using our products to transform the finite space available,” said David Hatcher, senior manager, product management and development for Häfele America Co. “Every one of us has had the experience of trying to put an extra can in a pantry or put a dish back in an already full cabinet. We recognize that problem and are presenting an array of smart options designed to directly address those pain points.”
The kitchen pantry area features three unique storage options: the Tandem Chef’s Pantry, a door mounted option offering total shelf access; the Dispensa with updated runners for easy operation and the Lavido pantry pull-out which offers easy access from three sides. These pantries are topped by the latest in Miele appliances in Obsidian Black.
Highlights in and around the counter area include power Free flap cabinet doors and fashionable Clipo with glass as well as Häfele’s in-cabinet Wall Unit Lift for easy pull-down of cabinet shelf contents. Finally, Häfele’s Backsplash Railing System handles everything from spices to cookbooks and utensils.
Kitchen drawer duties are handled by the Vionaro drawer system outfitted with Häfele’s new Non-Slip Mats and Fineline Move handling organization roles – in both regular and deep depth applications. Handles and pulls come courtesy of Häfele’s all-new Studio Collection.
Lighting brings a kitchen to life and is featured throughout the vignette through Häfele’s Loox LED Lighting system including in-cabinet, in-drawer and over the countertop fixtures. Also powered by Loox is a European inspired hydroponic kitchen garden station – complete with homegrown herbs and spices.
Additional kitchen storage highlights include cabinet doors featuring Frontino sliding door hardware, the Lemans II blind corner storage unit, Portero slide out under sink storage unit as well a unique pet food station with slide out toe kick water and food bowls.
