Sr. Manager - Development, Engineering and Product
 

SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager – Development, Engineering and Product is responsible for all aspects of Häfele America Co. products including but not limited to developing new solutions, driving innovation, managing life-cycle, and insuring profitable growth.  This position is in charge of leading our Brand values of Superior Range of Product, German Quality and Perfection and Dynamic Innovator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
As an Executive partner, this position works directly with the leadership team to develop products strategies, innovative new solutions and deliver results that reflect and support the specific goals and strategies of Häfele America Co. along with Häfele Group.

• Establish strategic roadmaps for various product categories that support the direction of Häfele America.

• Directs the development of new products through building internal product development capability and connecting this resource to potential successful customer solutions.

• Develops new suppliers that have products which could enhance our offering and/or profitability.

• Assesses new products developed by suppliers and other Häfele subsidiaries for their ability to be relevant to our strategy and market.

• Influence the product offering through the lifecycle in such a way to maximize potential volume and profit with the minimum amount of waste to the company.  This includes both products we distribute and the creation of unique products that support the Brand and target market strategies.

• Works directly with Sales and Marketing to find ways to promote product success in the market. This can involve but is not limited to creating promotional ideas, training events and product displays.

• Hold self and team accountable for achieving acceptable levels of revenue per item stocked and constantly looks for ways to reduce inventory while driving sales and profit.

• Maintains processes that drive efficient execution on the goals of the organization as they relate to introducing, evolving and eliminating products.

• Insures product data is accurate and available in the timeliest fashion to the organization.

• Is an active participant in Häfele worldwide product team efforts to be the innovation leader in hardware.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisor(s) and their subordinates of the product department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Influence the Product Marketing and Sales teams.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university and extensive experience in product design, engineering and management. A degree in Industrial Design or Engineering strongly desired.  Experience in the cabinet or furniture industry would be a plus.

Product Development Engineer
 

SUMMARY
The Product Development Engineer is the primary technical resource for Hafele America. Qualified candidate will work closely with Product Managers and the Market Place in regards to product development, mechanical design, technical details and sourcing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in  various aspects of internal product development opportunities to include new product ideas, applications, strategies, market feedback, pricing, etc.

• Must have a high degree of product knowledge, technical proficiency and working knowledge of Mechanical Design as it relates to a variety of materials; plastics, wood, metals, electrical components, etc.

• Must have knowledge of numerous manufacturing processes ranging from extruding, stamping, injection molding, casting, finishes, machining, cutting and tooling.

• Use CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) to produce 2D and 3D detailed electronic drawings from sketches, specifications, and layouts provided by Product Managers, Suppliers, or Customers

• Candidate will be expected to achieve a high level of coordination and communication within the Häfele organization, have superior verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively report on project benchmarks.

• Domestic and International travel will be required.

• Attends regional and national industry trade shows and visit domestic and international suppliers as needed.

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional associations.

• Positive attitude, flexibility, being a team player and a strong work ethic are critical to perform this job successfully.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of prior Engineering experience with OEM manufacturers and/or 5 years of experience in the Kitchen Cabinet, Cabinet Hardware or Furniture Industry.  College Degree or higher with current/valid Engineering Credentials.  Additional languages are helpful but not required.

Marketing Communications and PR Manager
 

SUMMARY

The primary intent of this role is to position the business for growth through creation of targeted communications and public relations.  As the Communications and PR Manager you will:

> Create communications and public relations activities that are consistent with growth and sales objectives.

> Research, write and edit a broad array of communications, articles and releases that support thought leadership and messaging strategies.

> Develop messaging and positioning in the marketplace including sales aids, printed brochures and catalogs, web presence and promotional events.

> Develop, implement and manage an annual communications plan in agreement with strategic initiatives.

>  Define PR strategy including a media calendar of pitches and contributed articles that support thought leadership and messaging objections.

>   Track communication and promotion initiatives to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future promotions.

>    Identify and build a database of industry and business contacts and develop relationships with them with regular outreach.

>    Work with internal and external team members to vet and define opportunities.

Communications and PR Manager Requirements:

>   Bachelor’s degree required.  Journalism or Communication degrees preferred.

>   5 years of global/cross-cultural experience developing and managing communications and PR efforts in a B2B environment.

>   Proven experience building brand recognition and credibility through communication and PR efforts.

>   Three strategy, communication, or PR samples must be submitted.

>   Ability to understand a broad-based business needs and how effective communications and PR drive desired outcomes.

>    Experience developing and tracking key performance indicators.

>   Strong grasp of communication and PR best practices.

>   Strong writing and editorial skills.

>   Ability to collaborate with executive staff, sales and product teams, design and other cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Showroom Services Specialist
 

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Showroom Manager, greets and assists walk-in customers and guests and handles phone and email inquiries.  The service provided in the showroom is aimed toward specifications and/or purchases of Hafele products by design and construction trade professionals (business to business).  In addition, performs a variety of duties related to marketing, hospitality and customer service in accordance with company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

> Receives, researches, answers and follows up customer inquiries and requests regarding products, prices, catalog information.  Remains current on product knowledge.  Uses computer and administrative knowledge to provide information to customers.

> Provides office support as required.

>  Remains current on changes in policies and procedures.

>  Performs other clerical duties and projects assigned.

>   Learns to acquire skills to operate Hafele's computer system and phone system.

>   Has ability to use MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

>    Assists with upkeep and maintenance of displays and samples.

>    Understands basic drawings and dimensional information.

>     Provides hospitality to customers and guests during visits, meetings and events.

Territory Sales Representative - Michigan
 

SUMMARY
The purpose of the TSR is to travel within the defined territory promoting Hafele hardware (cabinet and architectural) to manufacturers, designers, engineers and architects. The focus is on sales and support to existing customers and specifiers ,and development of customers and specifiers determined to have good potential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and maintain a detailed sales and support plan for the territory.
• Travel daily within the territory to visit customers, potential customers and specifiers.
• Maintain consistent contact with customers to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Develop a daily agenda of customer visits to demonstrate current and speculative products and assist in customer hardware decisions including new product development. Determine the customer’s needs.
• Provide accurate reports on daily activities to Sales Management at regular intervals.
• Prepare price quotations and write orders subject to approval by Hafele Management.
• Maintain detailed files on previous, current and future customer product presentations and associated meetings
• Travel to trade shows within and outside of the territory. This may include nights and weekends.
• Participate in required training (product, computer, sales etc) within and outside of the territory.
• Keep company informed on competitive products, promotional matter, sales techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing policies.
• Complete product and market research reports as directed by sales and Marketing Management.
• Communicate as needed with Customer Service, Sales Management, Marketing Management and other internal personnel via phone, fax and e-mail regarding customer activities on a regular basis.
• Maintain a home office to conduct business exclusively for Hafele America Company.

Industrial Account Group (IAG) Sales Manager (OEM Sales)

 

SUMMARY
The IAG Sales Manager is responsible for the execution and success of the Hafele Sales Plan including but not limited to leading and managing the IAG Sales Team, driving the direct sales to strategic customers, building deep client relationships with major influencers and users and ensuring profitable growth. Duties also include contributing to the development and implementation of IAG Sales Strategies that are aligned with the overall company strategy, as well as the effective management of direct reports.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

> Implement the company’s marketing and sales strategies and plans to defined customers and clients.

> Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop optimum group results. Allocation of sales personnel to ensure achievement of company sales and profit goals.

> Works directly with Product Development, Engineering, and Management to increase our ability to provide products and to   tailor solutions for key customer needs that will facilitate a larger share of their business.

> Holds self and team accountable for a well-defined approach for selling to large/complex organizations and monitors the sales      pipeline to ensure maximum success.

> Coaches direct reports to develop understanding of brand image and to ensure consistent representation of the brand in customer interactions and execution of sales strategies.

> Identify, recruit, and close direct work with major customers and projects.

> In coordination with Executive Managers, provide annual Sales, Profit, and Personnel Plan for approval.

> Recommend product improvements and additions to identify growth opportunities in product lines.

> Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sales.

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with extensive experience working with OEM accounts in the development of products and sales.  Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as negotiation and presentation skills. Must have experience creating and implementing annual sales budgets and forecasts. Candidate must demonstrate business acumen and knowledge of sales processes as well as strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Ability to organize and maximize information on sales leads and integrate this information into the strategic sales plan.
