Quality Engineer
Archdale, NC


Works with Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager and/or Quality Assistant Manager to improve quality in all aspects of business operations as it directly supports the Company’s business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

Under the direction of the Quality Programs Manager and/or Quality Assistant Manager this position:

  • Utilizes Lean tools including: VSM, Kaizen, Kanban, 5s, Gemba, etc to improve and enhance all business operations.
  • Utilizes Six Sigma and Quality Engineers tools including: Statistical Process Control, Control Charts, Process Capability Studies, Reliability Modeling, etc. to test, control, and report on incoming and outgoing product.
  • Leads Continuous Improvement projects under the direction of the Continuous Improvement manager.
  • Supports the enhancement and implementation of related quality/business system (ISO 9001); internal auditing, document control, corrective action, customer complaint processing, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensures integrity of Quality System processes (e.g. CA/PA, internal audits, etc.) in order to maintain facility certifications.
  • Assists with timely disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Assists with development of Quality System documents (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures, Work instructions, forms) and maintains document control system.
  • Serves as an internal auditor and participates in the internal quality audits as scheduled and assigned. Applies strong critical thinking skills to assess quality/business system compliance and identify quality risks. Assists with outside quality audits as assigned. Reports added-value and impartial audit results and recommends improvements. Follows-up on audit finding closure and verifies effectiveness. Maintains Internal Audit Records.
  • Performs root cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Reviews complaints and returned products to identify trends and recommends corrective actions
  • Maintains Corrective Action system. Establishes and assigns ownership for audit findings and issues corrective actions. Monitors and assists with closure of CA for area of assigned responsibility. Records the results of actions taken and verifies the effectiveness.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects, and maintains all required quality records.
  • Contributes to Supply Chain Operations team improvement efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodology 
  • High level of understanding of industrial process and quality engineering, quality/business management systems, ISO 9001 standard, CA/PA, and internal audit systems
  • Working knowledge of process mapping of complex systems and other Lean tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and Project Management
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details
  • Ability to lead projects in a diverse and challenging environment.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Quality field or Associates degree with 4 years of quality systems related experience, or at least 5 years’ work experience within a manufacturing or service environment operating a QMS compliant to ISO 9001 standard;
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher preferred;
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training and certification. Certificate of competency of Auditing (Auditor Certification) preferred;
  • Experience of developing and maintaining of Integrated Management Systems is considered as an advantage;
  • Good understanding on Process Approach and QMS document management;
  • Experience and knowledge on using various quality tools.


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret graphs and charts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and standards.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Ability to apply concepts of statistics and data analysis and use statistical methods and basic process improvements tools and problem solving methodologies to solve practical problems.



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret graphs and charts, technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Territory Sales Representative - Michigan

The purpose of the TSR is to travel within the defined territory promoting Hafele hardware (cabinet and architectural) to manufacturers, designers, engineers and architects. The focus is on sales and support to existing customers and specifiers ,and development of customers and specifiers determined to have good potential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and maintain a detailed sales and support plan for the territory.
• Travel daily within the territory to visit customers, potential customers and specifiers.
• Maintain consistent contact with customers to maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Develop a daily agenda of customer visits to demonstrate current and speculative products and assist in customer hardware decisions including new product development. Determine the customer’s needs.
• Provide accurate reports on daily activities to Sales Management at regular intervals.
• Prepare price quotations and write orders subject to approval by Hafele Management.
• Maintain detailed files on previous, current and future customer product presentations and associated meetings
• Travel to trade shows within and outside of the territory. This may include nights and weekends.
• Participate in required training (product, computer, sales etc) within and outside of the territory.
• Keep company informed on competitive products, promotional matter, sales techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing policies.
• Complete product and market research reports as directed by sales and Marketing Management.
• Communicate as needed with Customer Service, Sales Management, Marketing Management and other internal personnel via phone, fax and e-mail regarding customer activities on a regular basis.
• Maintain a home office to conduct business exclusively for Hafele America Company.
